What is a copywriter?

A copywriter writes ‘copy’ – words that can be used to promote your business in the form of marketing content. We can write online content for your website, email marketing or social media posts, profiles and articles, as well as printed marketing, such as leaflets, brochures or magazine adverts and articles.

What’s the process when working with a copywriter?

First, we’ll have a short call to understand your needs. Depending on your geographical location, we would normally then organise a face-to-face meeting to discuss your project. We will look at your business objectives and marketing strategy, and create a brief based upon your needs. We will then provide you with a quote for our services and agree a timescale for the content to be written. Once you have approved the quote, we will book your job or project into our work schedule.

Do I need to send over any information?

Once your job or project has been booked in, we will agree a date for you to send over any additional information not previously discussed in our meeting or received via email. As we are a time-based business, it’s important that we receive all the information you wish us to include by the agreed date, as every job we undertake is booked in advance within our work schedule. If we receive information after the pre-agreed deadline and we have written your content, this may result in additional costs (or a cancellation fee – see the Terms & Conditions on our quote).

How will the content be supplied?

We will supply your content in both a Word document and a PDF format, so you can easily review using Microsoft Office or on Apple devices.

What if I need amends?

One full set of amends will be included in our costs – please make sure you have considered all your amends before sending these over. Please note that repeated sets of amends may incur additional costs due to the additional time it takes to update your content. The easiest way to supply your amends is by using Tracked Changes in the Word document or by using the Comments tool with the PDF.

How do I pay for the content?

We will send you an invoice after we have supplied your content or at month end, depending on the stage of your project. Please note that we only accept online bank transfers for invoice payments. Our bank account details will be stated on the invoice and our payment terms are 7 days from the date of invoice.

Will you edit my live website with the new content?

As every website is different and uses different content management systems and/or themes, we do not edit live websites. However, if this is an area you struggle with, we work with a range of trusted web developers who offer affordable services or packages for updating your website.
